A Day on the Lake
On Your Way to the Lake Before we take you out, you will need a valid Kentucky Fishing License.  You can purchase these licenses locally the day before, or you may purchase an instant license online. Pack a cooler with lunch and your favorite refreshment; bring your sunglasses and clothing appropriate for the weather.  We will provide you with all the bait and tackle you need. Where do we Start? Our preferred marinas are Alligator 2, Cave Springs, Jamestown, and the State Docks.  We can also arrange to pick you up from your houseboat. What do we Catch? We commonly catch Walleye, Small- and Large-Mouth Bass, and Kentucky Bass, and of course, Striped Bass. Striped Bass are one of the fiercest fighters in fresh water fishing.  The largest Striped Bass caught on Lake Cumberland weighed in at 59 pounds! The average Striper weighs 5-20 pounds; several fish per year are caught in the 30-40 pound range.
Out on the Lake We will troll for fish; this allows you to see the wildlife and take in the beautiful scenery that surrounds Lake Cumberland. Like taking a “Sunday drive” on the water, you will see deer, wild turkeys, and eagles. Bring your wife along; if she doesn’t want to fish she can spend the day enjoying a little lady talk with Captain Laura.  Don’t forget the kids; we offer a day of fun and safe family entertainment. When We’re Done The crew of the Blue Moon are happy to clean and wrap your catch for you.
Illegal Substances Illegal substances are not permitted on the Blue Moon.  Anyone caught with contraband will be immediately put ashore (or used for bait)!
